We started with presenting the general video and call for the competition. Then, the members of the third place team, Fold it green, from Germany, were awarded with diplomas and fib membership for a year. Professor Schlangen announced this team and explained what the jury liked the most in their idea.

We were very happy that the second awarded team, DIPO MUDA from Indonesia managed to arrange the visa and finally, after a lot of effort, could come to the Symposium. Since the costs of their travel were quite high and we really appreciated their presence, we managed to provide additional 1000 euros, to help them cover at least part of the costs. Additionally, they got the diplomas and the free access to a Springer journal of their choice for a year. Professor Walraven announced the second place team and emphasized what the jury liked about their idea.

Finally, the winning team, Greencrete from Denmark, got the award of 1000 euros and covered traveling costs. Professor Van Tittelboom announced the winning team and also highlighted what brought them to the winning position!

Generally, we are very happy with the whole event and we think that it was a real refreshment for the Symposium! All the videos and posters were presented on screens and panels in the exhibition hall and they attracted a lot of attention from the audience.
The general poster about the competition in which all the teams are presented you can see below or you can download the pdf version here.

Furthermore, organizers of the next fib Congress and the next Symposium promised of continuing with this initiative. We hope that students and student competition will get one of the central roles and will become a standard element of future conferences!
Once again, thank you very much for your great ideas and contributions and we wish you all the best in your future careers!!!
